Chief underwriter Stephen Potter has left AIA NZ after six and a half years in the role.

Potter announced his departure on LinkedIn, stating he was taking time to "hang up the lanyard and take a bit of a breather" while considering his next career move.

AIA NZ chief customer officer Maddison Sherlock said that Potter’s leadership and expertise have left a “lasting legacy,” and that AIA is “incredibly grateful” for the impact he’s had on the company and the life insurance industry.

AIA NZ is now recruiting for Potter's replacement. The role involves leading underwriting strategy, overseeing innovation initiatives, and working across business teams.

"We're looking for an outstanding individual to step into this pivotal role, someone who brings deep technical insight, strong leadership, and a passion for delivering great outcomes for our customers and partners," Sherlock said.

AIA New Zealand is part of AIA Group, one of the world's largest life insurance companies.
