Avanti aims for experience in top roles

Chartered accountant Nish Sethi has taken up the role of chief financial officer (CFO) at Avanti, along with Mark Paul who will join the team in the newly created role of head of enterprise risk.

Sethi will also be on the executive team and joined the company in February after successful stints as CFO at Tip Top Ice Cream and almost five years at Fonterra.

"Financial services has always been core to my career so when the opportunity at Avanti first came up, I was very excited," says Sethi in a statement.

"The thing that attracted me to Avanti was a great leadership team, the ambition, the culture, and the values. All of these factors gave me comfort that I'd be joining the right organisation.”

Mark Paul (pictured below) comes to Avavti with more than 20 years of risk management experience at companies such as EY, KPMG, ASB, Heartland and Public Trust.

It is not his first time working with Avanti, having consulted with them for six months just a few years ago.

"I've worked with members of the Avanti leadership team before, both at Avanti itself and in their previous roles, so I knew that the vision they have for the company is a strong one," Paul says.

"I'm excited to join a business that's growing - that's maturing on a risk management level, and where risk management is recognised as being integral to our continued business growth and success."
