An exciting senior leadership position has opened in one of New Zealand largest financial advice groups.  This co-operative consists of over 50 independent Adviser Businesses who provide financial advice covering investments, life and health insurance, mortgage lending and general insurance.  Acting as the Financial Advice Provider (FAP) for the members of the co-operative, the business also holds a Discretionary Investment Management Service (DIMS) license.

This position reports to the Chief Executive Officer and sits on the leadership team. The Head of Investments leads our Investments team who provide strategic, operational and practical support to our Adviser network (including support staff) and is fundamentally responsible for the success of the investment proposition offered.  Responsible for the commercial performance of the investment unit of the business, this role develops and grows the capability in the investment marketplace through contemporary investment management processes and the provision of quality products.  It has responsibility for ensuring the business meets its regulatory requirements or the DIMS license held. This includes the responsibility for the development and management of the DIMS portfolios, running the investment committee and the fund manager selection and working with external asset consultants.

This person suited to this role is highly experienced in their knowledge of portfolio management including in asset allocation, has had exposure to the investment planning and financial advice profession, and has previously held a senior leadership/executive position.

The right candidate will not only have a suitable tertiary qualification and possess extensive technical and senior leadership experience, they will also have a high caliber of interpersonal skills as building constructive relationships with financial Advisers, fund managers, and across the industry and business is essential.

An action orientated leader who demonstrates a high level of both strategic and operational acumen – as well as the ability to lead a team and contribute positively as a senior leader and influential in the business - is essential for this role!
