It won the Equifax Community and Sustainability Award, which it also picked up in 2019.
This category of award is intended to celebrate FSF member companies whose initiatives have helped people in the community.
Avanti won against another lending company, Go Car Finance, which took the second spot.
In giving this award, the judges praised Avanti's social programmes.
“Of note was Avanti’s structured framework and dedicated resource to organise volunteering opportunities for staff to volunteer in the community with the likes of Eat My Lunch, Ronald McDonald House, Motuihe Island Care, and Helping Homeless Families,” the judges said.
“Avanti has also supported IHC to contribute towards development of an app designed to promote financial literacy for people with intellectual disabilities.”
Avanti was last year acknowledged as the second largest non-bank lender in New Zealand, with total assets worth $1.6 billion. Its business covers personal, motor, mortgage and business lending.
Other winners in the FSF awards were CFS Finance, which specialises in car loans, and won in two areas. Other winners were Mark Wilson of Latitude Financial, Oxford Credit Services and Centrix.
