Beattie steps back from top job at Booster

Booster's chief investment officer David Beattie says his role is changing, but he’s not leaving the business.

David Beattie is shifting from a full-time operation role to a position as a mentor and strategic adviser to the business.

“I have effectively stepped aside as chief investment officer and handed over my day-to-day responsibilities to Nic Craven, our research manager, who I will actively mentor.  Nic has been with Booster for more than 10 years and is very ready to take these over,” he said in a message to stakeholders.

“Booster’s senior executive team has been thinking about our succession implementation challenge for a while, particularly around how we bring on our younger leadership team in a seamless fashion to continue to execute our strategic plan long into the future.

“It has also been important for us to align this implementation with our own personal plans and goals, and to choose the right time for this alignment to start. For me that time has arrived.”

He said he was not exiting the business or retiring any time soon.

“I will also have a significant ongoing role to play in ‘boosting’ the Booster brand, getting out and about more to help Kiwis understand money better, and working with financial advisers on some exciting retirement planning projects.”
