Bizcap appoints NZ general manager

Australian small business lender appoints its first New Zealand general manager.

Small business lender Bizcap has made Camilla Tumai its new general manager for New Zealand.

Tumai brings a wealth of hands-on experience, having worked as an adviser, business owner and leader within the finance sector.

She was Head of Partnerships and Adviser Engagement at AdviceFirst’s retail and group insurance channels, the founder and general manager at IKONIK, a KiwiSaver and insurance specialist, and presently serves as a board member at Quality Product Research (Quotemonster).

Added to those role she was also the inaugural recipient of the Financial Advice New Zealand Excellence in Advice award, in recognition of her “thought leadership, service excellence, innovation and services to the advice profession”.

Bizcap provides fast and flexible business loans to small and medium-sized enterprises. In New Zealand, it offers loans of $5,000 to $2 million within 24 hours, without up-front credit checks.

The company was established in Australia in 2019 and has recently opened up in New Zealand.

Bizcap say it has identified a niche through which it can make business loans more accessible for SMEs, so that they can seize opportunities with speed and get on with business.

"Tumai’s deep understanding of the advisory landscape, combined with her entrepreneurial spirit and history of fostering strong industry connections, is key to Bizcap's mission to empower SMEs throughout New Zealand with its fast and flexible loans," the company says.

“Many small and medium-sized businesses in New Zealand feel like financial growth is out of their grasp. Bizcap has a remarkable process of assessing SMEs both qualitatively and quantitatively, gaining a holistic understanding of their financial position and business potential, before tailoring lending solutions to their goals and repayment capabilities. I look forward to making these innovative loans available to more and more SMEs throughout New Zealand, and will approach this mission with the same resilience and adaptability SME leaders show every day,” she says.
